ISU Foundation magazine spotlights InTrans director

Shauna Hallmark (Christopher Gannon/Iowa State University)

Institute for Transportation (InTrans) Director Shauna Hallmark was recently spotlighted in the Iowa State University (ISU) Foundation’s Forward Magazine in an article entitled “Work is a Highway.”

The article highlights some of Hallmark’s research into keeping people safe on the road.

The article begins, “Shauna Hallmark is the inaugural holder of the Robert J. and Roxann L. Paulsen Professorship in Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, and director of Iowa State’s Institute for Transportation. But her job title could be just lifesaver.”

The feature also includes some of the work Hallmark has done since being named the inaugural Paulsen Professor in Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering.

“Roxann and I are really impressed by the way Shauna is leading the Institute for Transportation,” Robert Paulsen said as part of the article. “Her enthusiasm and dedication are unsurpassed. We are particularly pleased to have someone of her abilities inspiring students who will one day lead the transportation industry.”
