AMPP leaders are continually exploring development of online tools that will help practitioners in the asphalt paving industry operate more efficiently.
One online calculator has been developed and they are at work on another program for industry use.
I-PAVE
I-PAVE, a low volume road design guide, was designed by AMPP staff members Ashley Buss, Chris Williams, and Joseph Podolosky, in cooperation with the Asphalt Paving Association of Iowa, and the ISU department of civil, construction and environmental engineering. The software program used to calculate design parameters was created by Cylcosoft and is intended for professional engineers dealing with roads that are less heavily traveled.
It offers options for both new road design and rehabilitation of existing roadways. Users enter project details, as well as data about structure and pavement type, and the program will provide information about design options.
